FAYETTEVILLE โ University of Arkansas redshirt freshman offensive lineman Paris Patterson, a former Rivals 250 player, told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that he plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Patterson, a 6-6, 352-pound native of East St. Louis, Illinois, became an early enrollee at age 17 after signing in December 2022.
Listed as a four-star prospect by Rivals and a three-star prospect by 247Sports, Patterson signed with the University of Arkansas after playing at LSU, Tennessee, Kansas, Iowa State and Nebraska. He did not advance to the Razorbacks' second-tier depth chart during spring training, playing primarily in the third unit.
While redshirting in 2023, Patterson did not appear in any games. Patterson will have four years of eligibility remaining.
Patterson, who turns 19 on July 20, joins tailback Isaiah Augustave and quarterback JaColby Criswell as other Arkansas players known to have entered the portal, which will close again later this month. , joined by punter Max Fletcher.
The Razorbacks added one player this spring in Rodney Hill, a 5-10, 190-pound tailback who began his college career at Florida State University. Hill, a 2022 four-star prospect out of Statesboro, Georgia, had 50 carries for 190 yards and one touchdown last season.
The University of Arkansas currently has 77 scholarship players on its roster, and coach Sam Pittman has eight transfer slots available.
