Morgantown, West Virginia – The No. 9 Texas men's swimming and diving team opened the Big 12 Championships Tuesday at Mylan Park Aquatic Center, winning three events, including the first-ever Big 12 team diving title.
Texas State started the day with a win in the 200-meter medley relay as a quartet of freshmen. Will Modglin, Will Scholz, Nate Jarmon Prez and camden taylor He recorded a season's best and A-cut time of 1:22.46. The time moved Texas from 17th to sixth in the nation at this season's meet, marking the fourth-fastest finish in program history. Modglin highlighted the Longhorns, opening the race with a season-best 20.49 seconds split at the back.

Texas 800 free relay coby carozza, Manning Haskell, Alec Enyeart Germont Prez then swam a time of 6 minutes, 13.12 seconds to close out the night with a win for Texas and give the Longhorns another victory. Carozza ran a career-best 1:31.97 on the lead leg, moving him into seventh place on UT's all-time list of competitors.
The Big 12 Championship resumes Wednesday with qualifying beginning at 9 a.m. Central Time and finals at 4:15 p.m. Central Time. The final session will be streamed live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
