Adrian, Michigan–The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point lost to Adrian College (Mich.) 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship on March 9 at Arlington Ice Arena.
The Pointers finished the 2024 season with a 21-6-2 record and made their 17th NCAA appearance. Steens Point, which won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title and the Commissioner's Cup, finished with 21 wins, the eighth time in the last 10 seasons it has won 20 or more games.
Adrian (23-6-1) put the Pointers in a 1-0 hole just 1:33 into the game and doubled the lead at 12:42 of the first period. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point had eight shots in the first 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs capitalized on their first power play and scored at the 3:22 mark of the second period.
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Alex Proctor made eight saves in the third period to prevent Adrian from increasing its lead. The Pointers had 13 shots in the third, but couldn't find the net.
The Bulldogs added an empty-net goal late in the scoring to finish the scoring.
Proctor finished the night with 28 saves, and David Hill and Connor Witherspoon combined for 11 shots on goal to lead the Pointers.
