The Bermuda National Volleyball Team is returning home from Ohio after an enjoyable trip to the U.S. Open Championships.
The boys and girls teams competed against hundreds of talented teams during the three-day tournament held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Competing under the name DIVC, the girls' team won two of seven matches and finished 32nd out of 71 teams.
They suffered a narrow loss to Beach Please (27-25, 24-26, 12-15) on Friday but have started the tournament strong with two straight wins over Country Road (25-18, 20-25, 15-13) and Brew City Babes (25-18, 25-22).

These results were enough to get them into the Silver bracket on day two and the standards rose, with unlucky losses in three matches against the Buffa-hoes, Elite Titans and TPE before suffering defeat again in the final match on the final day.
The men's team placed 48th out of 58 teams, with all three teams in their group finishing the opening round with one win and one loss, disappointingly finishing with the bronze medal.
Competing under the name Ace Boyz, they defeated LDE 15-25, 25-22, 15-13 in their opening match before losing to EZ Clapp 18-25, 19-25. They then won their final three matches to finish the tournament on a high.
The senior team will next play in Antigua in October.
