CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLE NOW) โ The Northeast High Eagles traveled across the river to Montgomery Central High School on Monday, March 19, to open the 2024 flag football season. The game was a hard-fought battle from start to finish, but Montgomery Central secured its first win of the tournament. A late interception by Audrey Levenduski ended the season, giving them a 20-12 victory.
A balanced offensive approach allowed Montgomery Central to frustrate the Eagles' defense during the contest. After the game, Indians head coach Spencer Harp touched on the positives from his team's matchup.

โWe have a lot of good girls here, a lot of girls who are back from last yearโs team,โ Harp told Clarksville Now. โIโm glad we were able to start the year with a win.โ
Although Northeast High School ultimately lost the game, there were some positive takeaways for the Eagles, including quarterback play with Desiree Brown leading the offense. Brown's lateral quickness, arm strength and speed kept the Eagles offense moving forward all night.
Northeast head coach Sam Lipsey, who is also the head coach of the high school football team, had nothing but compliments about his quarterback.
โSheโs just a playmaker,โ Lipsey said. โShe can make her offense easy and make sure we line up correctly and sheโs great. We try to get the ball in her hands and let her make plays.โ I plan to continue doing so.โ
