Both Monroe Area soccer teams have had successful starts to the season, with both teams currently batting over .500.

The boys traveled to Stevens County and defeated the Indians 4-2 with a big second half.
Stephens County went into halftime with a one-point lead, but Monroe Area came on in the second half and beat the Indians 4-1 in 40 minutes.
The women's team also won a game against Stevens County, giving them the upper hand once again.
The Lady Hurricanes defeated the Lady Indians 11-5 for their seventh win of the season.
The women's offense appears to have found their identity, scoring 24 goals in the last two games and averaging nearly six goals per game all season.
The boys have found themselves playing much closer games this season. They are averaging 2.4 points per game on offense and 2.6 points per game on defense.
Moving forward, they will look to junior Gabriel Portillo to lead the Hurricanes forward. He is the team's leading scorer averaging goals per game.
Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to continue regional competition with a home game against Franklin County next Tuesday, followed by hosting Loganville Christian Academy on Thursday.
