The Texas Tech football team announced Sunday that Mineral Wells tight end prospect Preztyn Harrison will be transferring to the Red Raiders, making it the 10th commitment to the 2025 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-5, 214-pound Harrison also has scholarship offers from Arkansas State, North Texas, Texas State and Vanderbilt, according to recruiting services. He is ranked the No. 45 prospect in the state and in the top 300 nationally by the 247Sports Composite Index.
He caught 17 passes for 374 yards and eight touchdowns and was first-team All-District 4-4A Division I as a wide receiver. Mineral Wells finished with 4 wins and 6 losses.
Harrison competed in the UIL Class 4A state meet in the high jump last year, finishing sixth with a record of 6-2. His individual record stands at 6-4 for him, which he achieved in back-to-back weeks at area and regional tournaments last year. The district meet was held at Plains Capital Park/Lowry Field, and Harrison also received a wind assist in the long jump, finishing in fifth place with a personal best of 21 wins, 9 draws and 1/4.
The Red Raiders' most notable player from Mineral Wells is defensive end Adelle Duckett, who ranks second at Tech in career sacks with 28 and leads the program in tackles for loss in a single season with 24 1/2 in 2003. Records are kept.
