With just over two weeks left in the spring season, Florida State football remains focused on offense.
Staff continues to work through the challenges associated with installing the playbook. After Tuesday's practice, head coach Mike Norvell said there were some communication issues due to the new facility.
“Today was the first day I saw some of the mistakes in the new installation,” Nobel said.
“There have been some communication issues and men look different now, and you have to be able to adapt and adjust to that.”
Although there were some new assignments immediately after Thursday's scrimmage, Coach Norvell said the offense missed a lot of opportunities.
In addition to Tuesday's further installation, Norvell added that it was a good opportunity for the players to correct mistakes made in the scrimmage.
There were some drops in Tuesday's practice, but it also allowed the Seminoles' rushing game to play to its strengths.
Indiana transfer Jaylin Lucas had some impressive runs, and sophomore quarterback Brock Glenn continued to show growth in the backfield, especially in his rushing ability.
“It was one of those days I needed to be here this spring,” Norvell said. “It was a great opportunity for the players to challenge themselves. There's going to be a lot of great film going forward.”
Norvell said he hopes Thursday's practice won't be too installation-heavy and that the players will continue to stay on top of what's already there and make any necessary modifications.
“Certainly, I thought there was some good back-and-forth, some situational work and some explosive plays on both sides of the ball,” Norvell said. “There were some missed opportunities for our players to continue to grow and get better.”
