The UCLA Bruins have acquired Dominique Harris, a sharp-shooting transfer from LMU.
Harris shared news of her decision via X this weekend.
The 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Murrieta, Calif., is a relatively short transfer from Marina del Rey to Westwood for the UCLA Bruins.
Harris explained his decision to transfer to UCLA to Dave Woods of Bruin Report Online.
“It started with the coaching staff showing interest in me,” Harris told BRO's Dave Woods. “Obviously they trust me in what I can do on the court and how I can be a better player. I respect the way they approached the situation by showing interest in me. And UCLA is a prestigious school and just because of the history and tradition and because they're in Los Angeles and I'm from California, I want to play at UCLA and believe me. It was easy for me to want to play for such a great coaching staff.”
This is Harris' second transfer. He started his college career at Gonzaga University, but his playing time was limited. That's why he transferred to LMU last season, and it was a memorable season for the redshirt senior. He scored 14.3 points per game, led the West Coast Conference on 44.8 percent shooting and had the third-best 3-point percentage in the country.
The Bruins needed to work on their 3-point shooting talent, and they answered that call by landing Harris. As the roster is currently constructed, he will join freshman guard Eric Freeney and returning forwards Berke Buyuktuncel and Devin Williams.
