Michigan State football coach Jonathan Smith and his program are in the midst of ramping up the Green and White's recruiting efforts in the Midwest.
Michigan State recently secured in-state three-star linebacker Charles White.
The linebacker position is a focus for Smith. He brings in two coveted transfers in Wayne Matthews III and Jordan Turner, and the Spartans have a top-four pick in 2025 Macomb Dakota product three-star Dimari Malone.
On Thursday, Michigan State offered Andre Parker Jr., a 2026 linebacker out of Princeton High School in Cincinnati.
Parker made the announcement via X (formerly known as Twitter).
Parker has offers from multiple schools including Bowling Green, West Virginia, Akron, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pitt and Toledo.
According to 247Sports' Allen Trieu, Parker has been in contact with Pitt and Kentucky.
Parker told Trew about Pitt:[Pitt’s] Great atmosphere, great campus, and I'm looking forward to attending spring practice. ”
Parker said of Kentucky, “Kentucky is great…I love it. I've had a great relationship with Coach Murrow. They have a nice, beautiful campus. I go to school in the summer for camps and games and “I came to visit on game day.” I really like the atmosphere. ”
Parker plays for his father, coach Andre Parker Sr.
Parker Sr. received high praise in 2022 when he received the Paul Brown Outstanding Coaching Award from the Cincinnati Bengals.
The award recognizes “an outstanding high school football coach in the area” and consists of $10,000 donated to Princeton High School's athletics department.
Parker Sr. was also nominated for the Bengals' 2022 Don Shula NFL High School Football Coach of the Year Award.
At the time of this honor, Parker Sr. was in his second year at Princeton University and had a record of 20 wins and 5 losses.
Parker Jr., who is 5-foot-11 and weighs 190 pounds, will be entering his junior season at Princeton.
Parker Jr. is the fifth linebacker in the 2026 class offered by Michigan State. Among the five linebackers are standout four-star Talanoa Ili and Sam Moala from California.
Both players are ranked in the top 20 in the nation at their position, according to 247Sports.
