Dusty May and the Michigan Wolverines had a big weekend with four players from the portal and high school ranks committing to play in Ann Arbor next season. However, the work is not done yet as several roster spots still need to be filled. Maye needs additional help in the frontcourt, despite promises that Yale's Danny Wolfe and Will Tschetter will return in 2024-2025.
On Saturday, the Wolverines and several others made contact with Duke transfer Sean Stewart.
Duke transfer and former McDonald's All-American Sean Stewart has been contacted by those schools since moving to the portal, sources said. @LeagueRDY:

The 6-foot-9 freshman averaged 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while playing minutes in each of the Blue Devils' 33 games this season. Stewart is an exceptional athlete, and he broke Zion Williamson's program record for verticals with 36 inches.
Stewart went to Montverde Academy in Florida, a high school basketball powerhouse. He was a McDonald's All-American and the No. 21 ranked player in the country, and was known for his shot-blocking and rebounding abilities. The Wolverines finished in the top four out of high school along with Ohio State and Georgetown. Stewart has heard from all three and many more since entering the portal.
Michigan has already made contact with several other big men in recent weeks, and progress is being made. Vlad Goldin, a 7-foot transfer from FAU, has been expected to go to Michigan for quite some time. In addition, Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year Justin Abson was on campus last weekend after finishing fifth in the country in blocks per game last season.
Is this consistent contact with other forwards in the portal an indication of the Wolverines' ranking to match these two, or is Maye just being cautious and considering other potential multi-year eligibles to replace him? We'll see if he's just listening to certain players. his role on the team.
