>> I'm looking forward to participating in the Boston Marathon. Doug: Speaking from Orlando, Florida, Chris Nick Ich is preparing for the 126th Boston Marathon with his father, Nick. ISTH will be Chris' second. He ran Boston last fall, but didn't make it until April. >>I don't know about you, but I had the best time, did I have a good time? Was that your favorite part? Women. Okay ladies, Boston women are beautiful. Doug: This fun-loving athlete also has a serious side when it comes to running 26.2 miles. BAA has assigned Crissive B number 321, which represents the third extra chromosome on the 21st marker for Down syndrome. 321 is a global initiative to further involve neurodivergent athletes like Chris in Indian national athletic events like his Boston Marathon. HO >> It means they have a level of opportunity to be a part of something special, and Boston is certainly something special. Doug: Nick says he says 321 might be about Chris, but what are the challenges with that – don't define M.HI>> Those are just obstacles. If you are willing to work on HDAR and place bets on a regular basis, you can accomplish great things. Doug: Among Chris' amazing accomplishments, he already has three marathons and his one Ironman under his belt. But his biggest draw may be that he serves as a role model and inspiration to other athletes like him every time he crosses the finish line. >> A lot of moms talk to me and give me hugs. And they say I'm their hero. >> Actions Follow Beliefs, Lit?GH So step one is creating the belief that anything is possible, and I think that's what Chris did for us L.AL Doug: The Boston Marathon has already committed to providing runner number 132 to all Neurodivergent athletes starting in 2023. Dan's hope is that every marathon participating in the Globe will do the same. If you would like more information, there is a link to our website at WCVB.COM. I'm Doug Meehan WCVB NEWS CENTE.
