As the 2023-24 high school sports calendar nears its end, the Colorado High School Activities Association announced its all-state team series for spring sports last week.
In addition to the All-State track and field teams, which were featured in the Greeley Tribune's high school sports week roundup last Saturday, the CHSAA also announced the All-State teams for girls golf, boys lacrosse, boys volleyball, girls tennis and boys swimming and diving.
Here are some of the local players who made the team.
Boys swimming and diving
Windsor High School senior Jake Eccleston was named Class 4A Swimmer of the Year along with Evergreen High School junior Duncan Salmen and Silver Creek High School junior James Story.
At the state meet earlier this month, Eccleston won her third consecutive state title in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-meter individual medley.
Eccleston was also named to the 4A All-State First Team.
Eccleston's sophomore teammate Elias Everitt (100 backstroke) was named 4A honorable mention, as were Wizards senior diver Anthony Mascarenas and Windsor senior Keegan Nichols (100 butterfly).
The Wizards were the 4A state runner-up behind Silver Creek.
Greeley West High School junior Ian Spooner (100 butterfly and 200 freestyle) was named 5A Outstanding Athlete.
Women's Golf
Windsor junior Macy Crave was named to the 4A girls golf first team after tying for second at the state tournament a week ago.
Men's Lacrosse
Boys lacrosse players from both Resurrection Christian and Windsor High School earned 4A all-state honors after leading their teams in the state tournament this spring.
Resurrection Christian University freshman attacker Jacob Adams was named to the second team, as was the Cougars' third-year midfielder Zander Adfield.
Windsor junior defenseman Gavin Bishop and Wizards junior attacker Hayden Williamson were named 4A honorable mentions.
Men's Volleyball
Severance High School junior Gabe Schneekloth, Fort Lupton senior Kaydyn Taylor and Greeley Central High School senior Connor Wilson were named boys volleyball all-state honorable mentions.
There is only one classification in men's volleyball.
Women's Tennis
Windsor sophomore Zylee Rose (No. 2 singles) and Severance senior Erin Crownhart (No. 3 singles) were both named to the 4A girls tennis second team after placing second at the state tournament earlier this month.
