I have to give it to Villanova twitter for the best tweet of the night. So it's a smart move. We're always recruiting, and nothing does that more than honoring a former player at the biggest NBA game of the night. Indeed, he is one of only three former players to play in this game. I can't think of a fourth.
But what really makes this tweet is that the assholes in Philadelphia are eye-opening that Villanova dared to say something about a former player. Let's take a look at some beauties here.
First, the outrageous temple/St. Jaws wouldn't do that. They don't have players who can make a difference in the NBA. Second, this is peak Philadelphia. Nova has no connection to the 76ers. In fact, they should have gotten the 76ers for what they did to Mikal Bridges. I'm glad Zaire Smith thought this through. Do you think Nova Basketball doesn't care that the 76ers lost? of course not. They were concerned about Josh Hart looking like the best player on the floor. They care about Donte hitting the winning run. They care about Jalen Brunson being an All-NBA player. They, like the rest of the country, only care about Villanova basketball.
I don't know, but if I was in Philadelphia I would want to get Villanova. They are the only basketball team to hang a banner at Wells Fargo in his 40 years. They are the only team in the region to win in basketball. But go ahead and claim they're not Philadelphia and cry like babies when they realize greatness. I'm sure Philadelphia will take Temple, St. Joe's, Drexel, Penn, and La Salle. This is how to win in college basketball!
At least real champions understand that.
Bang.
