UCLA Bruins women's basketball sophomore star forward Gabriela Jaquez is now a dual athlete, Matthew Royer of the Daily Bruin reports.
Jaquez joins the school's softball team, which recently won the Pac-12 Championship.

Royer said Jaquez excelled at softball during his three prep school seasons at Adolfo Camarillo High School, where he hit .271.
While playing her primary sport last season, the 5-foot-11 Camarillo native (sister of All-American Bruins legend Jamie, currently with the Miami Heat) averaged He scored 10 points and hit .478/.259/.713. He averaged 5.6 boards, 1.6 assists, and 0.6 steals in 34 games (six starts). She helped lead her team to a 27-7 record this year and a Sweet Sixteen berth in March Madness.
The softball team is currently in the midst of the playoffs, embarking on the first round of the NCAA Softball Tournament, and will take on Grand Canyon in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional game on Friday.
