LEXINGTON โ Kentucky football's 2024 freshman class finished 25th in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. This was 11th out of 14 schools competing in the SEC last season.
The road ahead will be even tougher. Oklahoma and Texas will join the league when the 2024 campaign begins.
Still, the Wildcats' 2024 signing is only the fourth in coach Mark Stoops' tenure (since he first started sign language classes in 2013) and ranks the program among the nation's top 25. Named in class. (Other events he had were in 2014, 2020 and 2022.) Stoops aims to make another top-25 effort in the 2025 cycle.
However, the UK has been working on its 2025 outlook over time and has only made three commitments so far.
Quarterback Stone Sanders committed to the Wildcats' 2025 class in August. Kentucky did not add any players to its class until February 5, when wide receiver Quintin Simmons Jr. joined the group. On Friday night, a third offensive player took the pledge when Philadelphia running back Isaiah West committed to UK.
