Farragut Football School announced Friday that it has named offensive coordinator Jeff Courtney as its new coach.
He will succeed his father, Eddie Courtney, who retired on March 6 after leading the Admirals for 28 years and serving as an assistant from 1977 to 1995.
Jeff Courtney played at Farragut and graduated from the school in 2006, then played at Tennessee and graduated in 2010. He served as an assistant for 15 years and offensive coordinator for seven years, and was named the 2022 Assistant Coach of the Year. Class 6A award from the Tennessee Football Coaches Association.
Farragut was the only school coached by Eddie Courtney, who retired with 204 wins, fifth among active coaches in the state. He won 28 of his games in the playoffs, and he has been named Regional Coach of the Year four times.
Eddie Courtney has been inducted into the Tennessee Football Coaches Association's 2020 Hall of Fame. He has coached over 200 college signees, 47 All-State players, 6 Mr. Football finalists, and 6 NFL players.
Farragut football finished 4-6 last season, missing out on the postseason for the first time since 2014.

Eddie Courtney previously told Knox News what advice he would give to his next coach.
“Be who you are and add energy to this program. Our purpose is to lead boys to greatness and help them become who they want to be,” he said.
