YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Youngstown State University volleyball head coach Riley Jarrett announced the second addition to the program this week, as Teagan Ng signed her letter of intent to join the Penguins.
Ng, a 5-foot-11 outside hitter from Sunbury, Ohio, originally committed to West Liberty when Jarrett was the program's head coach. She joins former WLU libero Nia Cetra as student-athletes who will follow Jarrett to Youngstown State University.
“Teagan is someone I scouted early on in high school and we have developed a great relationship,” Jarrett said. “She has played at a high level through club and high school and has a very high volleyball IQ. She will be a great addition to our YSU volleyball program on and off the court, and I am excited for her. I can’t wait to coach you!”
Ng was a two-time first-team All-Ohio Capital Conference selection and an all-district selection at Big Walnut High School in central Ohio. Ng helped the Golden Eagles share the OCC Capitals title as a junior, recording a team-high 217 digs and tied for the team lead with 250 kills. She finished her senior year with 229 kills and 264 digs, and ranked among the state leaders with 60 aces.
A member of the MOVA 18M club volleyball team, Ng was named to the 2022 JVA Watch List and was also a member of the Mintonette Volleyball Club, which won the 15-man AAU National Championship. Ng was a scholarship athlete for four years and received academic awards for three years while playing for the Golden Eagles.
