University Park, Pennsylvania – Penn State women's ice hockey forward Tessa Janeke The organization announced Tuesday that he was named to the CSC Academic All-America First Team.
Yaneke, a nutrition major, earned a 3.62 GPA and earned his first CSC Academic All-Merger honors after a stellar sophomore season on the ice and in the classroom.
Her 2023-24 season was one for the record books, as Yaneke recorded 17 goals and a career-high 36 assists for a team-leading 53 points and became the fastest player in program history to reach 100 career points.
The Orangeville, Illinois native is coming off the best year of her career, earning her a CCM/AHCA Second Team All-American and USCHO Second Team All-American selection. In her sophomore season, she was named All-CHA First Team, CHA Player of the Year and Forward of the Year, and finished the regular season as the league's leading scorer. In conference play alone, she totaled 35 points on 12 goals and had a league-leading 23 assists.
She has been named CHA Forward of the Week four times and CHA Forward of the Month three times. She also had two hat tricks this season against Lindenwood and Dartmouth. On the year, Janneke was tied for eighth in the nation in points, led the nation in faceoff wins with 630 and was tied for fourth in assists. She was also named a Top 10 Patty Kazmaier Award finalist for the first time in her career.
