Salt Lake City – University of Utah Women's Soccer Coach Hideki Nakata The University of Utah soccer program has added former Phoenix Rising FC director of goalkeeping Jackie Portinga to its staff, announcing him as the new assistant coach on Thursday.
Putinga comes to Utah after a busy few years of employment, including serving as the Phoenix Rising's Director of Goalkeeping, a position she has held since 2021. Her duties there included overseeing the organization's goalkeeper development, developing and implementing the team's goalkeeper training curriculum, and identifying talent for the purpose of improving the roster. She also served as the assistant goalkeeper coach for the Phoenix Rising FC men's USL Championship team.
Additionally, Putinga has served as the Arizona Soccer Association goalkeeping coach and a staff coach for Camp Shutout, working with many professional and collegiate coaches and collegiate players in the latter role, and also served as the head goalkeeping coach for the technical department at the Tiger Goalkeeping Academy from 2017-2020.
Putinga's coaching journey began after an all-conference collegiate career at Olivet Nazarene University and Arizona Christian University, as well as a stint playing professionally with FC Arizona.
