Providence, Rhode Island – head coach kia mcneil announced eight new players to the Brown women's soccer program.
Class of 2028 includes: Brooke Birtwistle, Isabel Chukwu, Nadja Mayte, chesney robinson, Ayla Shahin, Kyla Treanor, Ella Weil and Alecia Welch.

Success has allowed us to attract top student-athletes from top club teams in the United States and Canada, and these eight young women have strengthened their pursuit of championships on the soccer field. Midfielder | 5'11” | Hopkinton, Massachusetts | Hopkinton High School
Brooke Birtwistle, a native of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, was featured on TopDrawerSoccer as a top recruit in the Class of 2024. Birtwistle, his two-time captain at Hopkinton High School, led Hopkinton to a state semifinal appearance in 2023. As a dual-sport athlete on the track and field team, she was a state finalist on her 4×100 relay team and was named a finalist for Hopkinton High School Athlete of the Year. She is a member of the nationally ranked NEFC club and was recognized as a top 32 player in the Girls Academy National League.

Isabel Chukwu

She has represented her country in the U-15 and U-17 age groups and it is expected that she will continue to do so. She was also an integral part of leading her team to the OPDL Ontario Summer Games Championship, and the 2022 OPDL Premier Division League Championship. Chesney Robinson, a 5'7'' defender from Bowie, Maryland, is a three-time All-WCAC, two-time All-State and All-MET team. She was twice nominated for Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year while she served as captain of the Our Lady of Good Counsel high school team. She is a four-star recruit and an IMG Top 150 player. She was twice named to the Best Eleven in the ECNL Playoffs with Bethesda SC and was touted as one of the top defenders in the country (No. 14). .

Ayla Shahin

Artemisia (Ira) Shahin, a native of Barrington, Rhode Island, is a two-sport standout at Tabor Academy in track and field and soccer. She was a two-time All-ISL and two-time All-NEPSAC Class A selection, and she was also a member of the 2023 All-American Watch List. She is currently ranked the No. 4 recruit in the Northeast by TopDrawerSoccer. She is a top 150 recruit in her IMG and was invited to the GA National Talent ID Camp. Ella Weil, a resident of Culver City, Calif., was a first-team all-league honoree representing Culver City High School. She was named the 2024 Women's National Soccer Player of the Year and was the recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award four times. She played for Beach FC (CA) in the ECNL Southwest where she was named to the All-Conference First Team twice and led the team to the North American Cup Championship in 2022.
