Unfortunately for Sanju Samson's team, their last match in the league stage ended in a draw, meaning they missed out on the top two spots on the points table. Despite having a good start in the tournament, Rajasthan Royals lost four games on the fast track and finished third in the points table. Sanju Samson's team will be looking to get back into form in the eliminator if they are aiming for the title. However, with the absence of Jos Buttler and the uncertainty of some of the other overseas players, it will be difficult for RR to turn the tide.

Royal Challengers Bangalore achieved the impossible last night as they defeated Chennai Super Kings and moved up to fourth place in the points table to book the final play-off spot. Despite the unfavorable conditions, the Bangalore-based unit came together and put up a series of performances that helped them progress to the next stage of the playoffs.

Punjab Kings finished the 2024 season in 9th place. Their season was marred by changes, with captain Shikhar Dhawan missing most of the games due to a shoulder injury. Sam Curran was asked to captain the team, but the team did not perform consistently. Shashank Singh was the standout player in the team with bat and ball along with Harshal Patel.

At the bottom of the table is Mumbai Indians, who failed to live up to expectations despite having a star-studded team. The five-time champions were left with little preparation as Jasprit Bumrah was the shining light with his outstanding performance with the ball.
