Former Indiana men's basketball center Kel'El Ware will be one of 78 players to participate in the NBA Combine, the league announced on May 3. Ware is the only representative for the Hoosiers.
The 7-foot Ware led Indiana with 15.9 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting a team-best 58.6 percent from the field in 2023-24. He was selected to the All-Big Ten Second Team by the media, third team by the conference coaches and earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Defensive Team.
Ware, a former five-star recruit, spent just one year with the Hoosiers, as he transferred from the University of Oregon to Bloomington after his true freshman season.
Ware, a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas, is widely projected to be a late first-round pick. He becomes Indiana University's second straight first-round pick, following in the footsteps of current Los Angeles Lakers guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, who was taken 17th overall last year.
The Golden State Warriors drafted former Indiana forward Trayce Jackson-Davis with the 57th pick last season, setting the stage for Ware to give the Hoosiers three draft prospects in two years.
The 2024 NBA Combine will be held from May 12th to May 19th at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
