Mountain Vista improved to 12-0 this week and remains the No. 1 team in Class 5A in the CHSAA heading into the final week of the regular season.
Adams City also improved to 12-0, but will need to perform well to stay in the 5A playoffs.
In this week's look at women's soccer, we take a look at the longest winning streaks in each category and what that means for the postseason, which begins May 7th.
Class 5A
1st place Mountain Vista (winning streak: 12): With two games remaining in the regular season, the Golden Eagles (12-0) could go a long way toward earning the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 5A postseason if they perform well against No. 2 Rock Canyon on Monday. .
On Thursday, senior Lily Boydstan and junior Laney Erickson scored in a 2-1 win over No. 9 Castleview (6-3-1).
It was Boydstan's team-leading eighth goal of the season. Eriksson leads the team with 20 points (7 goals, 6 assists).
No. 23 Adams City (Win streak: 12): The Eagles (12-0) don't have a strong enough schedule to move up any higher than their current standings, even though they have three games left.
But they can achieve the program's most wins in a season in at least 15 years.
Off the regular season schedule: 4A No. 57 Thornton on Friday, 3A No. 48 Alameda on Tuesday and 4A No. 26 Gateway on May 2. They've already beaten all three of them this spring.
This season, freshman Hilary Delgado scored 18 goals for the Eagles, which outscored her team 70-3.
class 4A
No. 4 Windsor (winning streak: 6): The Wizards (8-3-1) defeated the 36th-ranked Centaurs 4-2 on Wednesday in the 5A/4A Northern Colorado Athletics Conference.
The victory was Windsor's 97th consecutive win in the inside league, fresh off a win over former 4A No. 1 Meade on Monday on a second-half goal from freshman Tatum Gentry.
The Wizards will play at home against No. 47 Mountain View on Saturday.
No. 3 Northfield (Streak: 6): The Nighthawks (12-0-1) are dominant and will soon seek the program's second title after winning it all in 2022.
This season, they outscored teams 74-2 with at least 19 different players scoring goals.
They play at home against No. 29 Denver South in 5A on Wednesday and will face No. 12 Denver East on Friday.
class 3A
No.5 Delta (Win streak: 10): The Panthers (12-1) are led by TripleA leading scorer Jesse Black, who scored 33 of the team's 71 goals this spring.
The junior, who has a class-leading 74 points, entered Thursday's game against No. 10 Roaring Fork, marking his fourth straight game with at least two goals. Statistics were not available immediately after the 2-0 win over the Rams.
On Tuesday, the Panthers were ranked 60th in Moffat County.
No. 1 Colorado Academy (Win streak: 10): The Mustangs (10-0) have scored 51 goals this spring, 22 of which have come in the last three games.
Celina Frenz scored her team-leading 14th goal in a 10-0 win over No. 40 The Academy on Thursday, clinching the 3A/2A Metro League title.
They host No. 36 Lakewood in 5A on Monday and play No. 9 St. Mary's Academy on Tuesday.
class 2A
No. 8 Bruce Randolph (winning streak: 12): The Grizzlies (12-0) have scored 101 goals this season, 12 more than any team in the state.
Senior Jacqueline Oropeza leads the state with 81 points and 34 goals. She has scored in nine of the team's 12 games, with five goals in three of those games.
The Grizzlies were scheduled to play No. 45 Denver West in Triple A on Thursday, but no scores were reported.
No. 1 Denver Christian (Streak: 7): The Thunder (10-0-1) had one of their most impressive wins of the season on Thursday, scoring four unanswered goals in the second half to beat No. 6 Dawson 6-1.
The Thunder, who have no seniors on their varsity roster, are looking to return to the title game for the first time since reaching the finals in three years from 2017 to 2019, when they won both of them, according to MaxPreps.
Freshman Laila Scullion scored a team-high 23 goals Thursday.
They will play No. 18 Telluride on Saturday.
