After winning its seventh straight regional championship earlier in the week, Trenton's ice hockey team resumed its bid for the Division 2 state playoffs Saturday night.
In the D2 state quarterfinal game at Allen Park Civic Arena, Trenton faced a familiar foe in MIHL Detroit UD Jesuits, who knocked out the Trojans in this round of the state tournament a year ago. The Jesuits were also looking for revenge after losing 3-2 in the finals of their only regular-season competition in mid-December.
Instead, the team from Trenton defeated the Cubs 5-1 and earned a ticket to the state semifinals for the sixth time in seven years.
