The Nebraska women's soccer team welcomed forward Gracie English and defenseman Reece Snowden to the team on May 13, adding Anya McKay, Maddie Osborn and Lin Sato to the 2024 Husker team. Ta.
English joined the Huskers as a graduate transfer after playing his freshman and sophomore seasons at St. Louis and his junior and senior seasons at Missouri State. During her time with the Billikens, she helped the team win two conference championships and the following year at Missouri State, she started 16 of 20 games and had two goals and three assists. In her senior season, English started all 19 games, led the team with seven goals and three assists, and tied the program record with five game-winning goals. She led the conference in shots and shooting percentage and earned MVC All-Conference first-team honors.
In high school, English played for coach James Chambers at Belleville East High School in Belleville, Illinois. She scored 16 goals in one season as a junior, earned first-team all-conference and all-sectional honors throughout her career and was named McDonald's Soccer Student of the Year. -Athlete of the Week honors.
Snowden, who previously committed to Kansas State, will add depth to the Huskers' backfield. The Manhattan, Kan., native helped Manhattan High School to three consecutive fourth-place finishes in Kansas Class 6A, was a three-time KHSSA Class 6A second-team All-State selection, and was a three-time All-State selection. Snowden had 48 goals and 28 assists, earning him Centennial League Player of the Year honors. Additionally, she was named to the 2023 All-Centennial League First Team.
On the club side, Snowden played for Sporting Blue Valley ECNL under coach Colin Bullwich, helping the team to a third-place finish at the 2022 ECNL Nationals.
