Violent scenes erupted in Turkey on Sunday as soccer fans stormed the pitch to attack the opposing team as they celebrated their victory.
The turmoil came after Fenerbahce defeated Trabzonspor 3-2 in a dramatic Turkish Super Lig match, scoring the winning goal in the 87th minute.
Trabzonspor fans booed loudly as Fenerbahce began celebrating in midfield, then several jumped onto the field and began charging towards the Fenerbahce players.
A fan dressed in black ran towards the team and attempted to engage several players and other team staff, but several people said the man appeared to have some kind of weapon in his hand. The person concerned reported to X.
Team members believed to be Fenerbahce security were able to wrestle the fans to the ground, and several players appeared to shoot at them before being separated.
But things got even worse from there.
More fans then began to rush onto the pitch as stadium security tried to assess the situation, but the situation continued as the players were forced to defend themselves as football hooligans continued to invade. It just became more unstable.
Eventually, the situation escalated to a dangerous level and Fenerbahรงe were forced to retreat to the locker room.
Another video posted online showed goalkeeper Dominik Livakoviฤ having an unknown object thrown at him before a fan appeared out of nowhere and hit him on the head.
Another incident made international news in December, another sore point for Turkey's top soccer league.
Super Lig was suspended for a week after Ankaraguk president Faruk Koca punched a referee in the face after the match.
Koca resigned over the incident, and a Turkish court ordered his arrest.
