UH Beach Volleyball Head Coach Evan Silverstein sat down with Living808's John Benelli to talk about what led to winning the 2024 Big West Conference Championship and appearing in the NCAA Tournament for a third consecutive year. With a victorious 2024 season and exciting plans looming, Coach Silverstein shared some insight into recent accomplishments and upcoming events.
“The 2024 season has been an incredible journey for the University of Hawaii Beach Volleyball team,” Coach Silverstein said proudly. “Winning the Big West Championship was a huge milestone for us. Competing in the NCAAs was also a proud moment. We also had the amazing opportunity to take the team to Kauai in the fall, which was a memorable experience for everyone involved.”
Speaking of their efforts on Kauai, Coach Silverstein explained, “We hosted the Kauai Fall Tournament at Kalapaki last November which was a huge success. We're planning the same event this year and will be hosting teams from UCLA, Cal Poly and more from November 22-24. We'll also be hosting a free keiki clinic, which is a great way to engage with the local community and inspire our young athletes.”
Looking ahead, the UH Beach Volleyball team is gearing up for a series of camps and clinics this summer. “UH has several events scheduled for June this year,” Coach Silverstein said. “Our keiki camp is scheduled for June 4th and 11th, our high school and freshman camps for June 5th and 6th, and June 12th and 13th. These camps are a great opportunity for our younger players to hone their skills and learn from our experienced coaching staff.”
