Swedish broadcaster SVT, producer of this year's Eurovision, has decided on the running order of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 grand final. For the past decade, the show's producers have determined the running order based on a quota lottery.
The draw was held immediately after Semi-Final 1 and Semi-Final 2. Half of the participants were then placed into either the first or second half of the Grand Final. The other half are in the “producer decides” category, meaning Swedish producer SVT is free to decide where to place these countries in the running order.
Immediately after the ten qualifiers for the second semi-final were determined, the competition's producers began to piece together the puzzle to ensure diversity in the grand final.
It had already been decided by lottery that Sweden would play the first song in the grand final.
