Grameen T10 cricket tournament hits big time in third season
New Delhi (India), May 27: The brainchild of Dheeraj Deshmukh, Grameen T10 Cricket Tournament is now in its third season and is once again mesmerising cricket lovers with its fascinating matches and display of exceptional talent. This year's tournament saw the participation of 300 teams across various villages, clubs and talukas, with a total of over 5,000 players. Renowned actor Ritesh Deshmukh and acclaimed actress Genelia Deshmukh graced the occasion by attending as guests of honour.
More than 300 teams from Loha Kandahar (Nanded District), Lenapur, Udgir, Nilanga, Latur city and all talukas of the district showcased their prowess with over 5000 players performing at their best in the Grameen T10 – 2024. Notable participants included 42 teams from Latur taluka, 32 teams from Latur town, 41 teams from Udgir, 15 teams from Ahmadpur, 22 teams from Chakur, 20 teams from Devni, 18 teams from Jharkot, 23 teams from Lenapur, 26 teams from Sirur Anantpal, 32 teams from Ausa, 14 teams from Nilanga and 13 teams from Loha Kandahar taluka.
From this rich pool of talent, 12 outstanding teams emerged victorious and competed in the final four days of matches, with a tense final showdown between Latur City and Renapur taking place at the prestigious Latur Krida Sankur Ground.
Grameen T10, the Grameen T10 Cricket Tournament, conceived by visionary youth leader Dheeraj Deshmukh, MLA of Latur Grameen, is a new platform to foster cricketing excellence at the grassroots level in rural Maharashtra.
Dheeraj Deshmukh said, “I am extremely proud that the Grameen T10 Cricket Tournament has completed its third season with an overwhelming success. Our aim has always been to provide a platform for regional players to flourish, fulfil their potential and nurture their talent at the grassroots level. I congratulate all the participating teams and players for their dedication and sportsmanship.”
The efforts of MLA Dheeraj Vilasrao Deshmukh towards promoting sports culture in Latur district have been highly appreciated.
The tournament was attended by esteemed guests of honour in the form of beloved Maharashtra icons Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh whose presence is sure to inspire and motivate the budding cricketers. The children of the Deshmukh family enjoyed the tournament and were seen cheering for their team at every boundary.
