Colorado Springs, Colorado – Betsy Gooddenau and lawless abraham More than 200 women's volleyball players gathered at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center this weekend for the U.S. Women's National Team Open Program.
The WNT Open program is used for selection consideration for both the U.S. Women's National Team and the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team.
Players born in 2005 or earlier may also be considered for selection to the U.S. U21 Women's National Team for the 2024 U21 Women's NORCECA Continental Championship, to be held June 23-July 1 in Toronto, Canada. There is sex.
“The Open Program is a great opportunity for the Women's National Team staff to observe some of USA Volleyball's top prospects under one roof,” said Karch Kiraly, head coach of the USA Women's National Team. “This country is full of young volleyball talent. For the women's national team to remain competitive, the WNT staff not only works with the NCAA's top student-athletes, but also develops them through our national team development program. We need to tap into our potential.”
Both Goodenough and Abraham are coming off strong rookie seasons, helping the Bulldogs win Ivy League regular season and tournament titles. Gooddenau was named to the All-Ivy second team and twice named Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Abraham was named Rookie of the Year and led the team with 38 total blocks in league play.
More than 45 top volleyball coaches will also be at the training center to help run the program and evaluate players. They are head coach Karch Kiraly, assistant coach Tama Miyashiro, assistant coach Erin Virtue (head coach at the University of Michigan), assistant coach Alfie Left (head coach at UCLA), and performance analyst Leanne. -She will join the U.S. Women's National Team staff, including Barhook. Nate Go, performance analyst for the U.S. Men's National Team, will also be participating in the program.
