Georgia has a quarterback in the Class of 2026. Jared Curtis, who plays at Nashville (Tenn.) Christian School, committed to the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.
Curtis is ranked No. 9 overall and No. 1 quarterback in his class by the 247Sports Composite. He chose the Bulldogs over a long list that included Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas.
He is Georgia's first commitment in the 2026 class. The Bulldogs recently put the finishing touches on their top-ranked class for the 2024 cycle, with six players qualifying for the 2025 class, including two five-star prospects.
What does this mean for Georgia?
Anyone who has followed recruiting knows that a lot can change between now and when Curtis can actually enroll at the University of Georgia (probably January 2026) – especially Georgia State. This is because the quarterback position for the 2025 class has not yet been determined. The Bulldogs are still pursuing USC five-star JuJu Lewis from Carrollton, Ga., and his flip could change the dynamic for Curtis.
But if this holds up over the next 20 months and Curtis's stock stays strong, it could be a very good return for Georgia. Of course, the focus will be on who they bring in from the 2025 class, which includes four-stars Ryan Montgomery and Matt Zollers. A quarterback in the '25 class will be very key. Carson Beck is expected to turn pro after next year, with only Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi behind him. Georgia tried to bring in another quarterback this year, but UNLV transfer Jayden Maiava initially chose the Bulldogs before flipping to USC. Georgia will likely continue to search for depth at the portal window position in the spring and beyond.
