Former Florida State University star wide receiver Keon Coleman has been in the media a lot over the past week after his induction press conference with the Buffalo Bills made headlines. Coleman has the type of personality that appeals to NFL fans because he is confident in himself and isn't afraid to speak up when necessary.
One fan base that doesn't like second-round picks is the Georgia Bulldogs. On Robert Griffin III's podcast, RG3 and The Ones, Coleman said that if the Bulldogs had handled themselves well in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama, the Seminoles could have avoided being eliminated from the College Football Playoff in December. He has made it clear that he believes he is deaf.

“How many players did we draft? 10 or 11? We'll see who does better in the NFL. That's the only way we'll know. Of course they want to play. I'm thinking, “I'm playing in the NFL.'' “Crazy as hell'' bowl,'' Coleman said. “They're angry because they lost. Why are they angry because they lost? You think you should play because you're a Georgian? If you had won.” [in the SEC Championship], you'll know which one is better, Florida State or Georgia State. You would have played us in the “Matter Bowl.” A cherished bowl. We're not going to play all of you in a bowl that doesn't matter. It's a waste of time. ”
“If you guys had won and done what you were supposed to do, you guys would have had to see us. We would have stood up and done this.” [while doing the Tomahawk Chop] forever. If he had been barking that much, we would have speared him,” Coleman continued. You would have known, but the world may never know because Georgia decided to lose. You should question their harshness towards Bama. Why does everyone keep suffocating? ”
Instead, the Texas Longhorns, the only team to beat the Crimson Tide during the regular season, dominated the conference championship game, while Georgia lost 27-24 to Alabama. These two results forced undefeated P5 conference champion Florida State out of the field for the first time since the playoffs were introduced in 2014.
This disrespect left a team that had overcome all challenges heartbroken. More than 20 players in FSU's two-deep have opted out of the Orange Bowl, including all 10 players the program recommended for the NFL Draft. The roster, made up primarily of reserves and young players, was depleted in the historic loss to Georgia.
The Bulldogs were not happy with Coleman's comments, to say the least. At least four players on last year's roster fought back. Running back Kendall Milton, cornerback Kamari Lassiter, safety Javon Bullard and safety Tykie Smith. Milton (Philadelphia Eagles), Lassiter (Houston Texans), Bullard (Green Bay Packers) and Smith (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) were all drafted last weekend.
It's a shame that we'll never really know if Florida State did enough to win a national title. Of course, losing star quarterback Jordan Travis hurt their chances, but recent drafts have proven the team has more than enough talent to compete. Instead, the Seminoles had that opportunity unfairly taken from their hands.
At the very least, it would make for an interesting locker room discussion between Coleman and former Bulldog Cedric Van Plan in Buffalo.
