While this size technically counts as “mini,” we found the dimensions to be adequate for an adult to play with while still maintaining the “portable” character of the goal: easy to pack up and carry without hassle. If you're looking for a full-size goal (dimensions of approximately 24 x 8 feet), we found the Bownet to be a worthy model. The Bownet model with these dimensions is pricey (around $700), but its design is still packable enough if you want a full-size goal. Other goal dimensions we reviewed include 6 x 4 feet and 4 x 2 feet.
weight
The appropriate weight for a portable goal is between 15 and 30 pounds. Heavier goals are useful because they have extra weight to help keep the goal in place. Lighter goals are, naturally, easier to transport. If you choose a lightweight type, keep in mind that it is wise to attach anchor weights to the back corners of the goal so that it doesn't shift or tip over even after a powerful shot hits the back of the net.

If you are looking for a traditional full-sized soccer goal, consider this goal from Kwik. This goal folds down to a standard size of 6' x 12' and has a thick rope net to stop the ball. Assembling the goal with fiberglass and steel components is similar to assembling a camping tent. If you want extra security to keep the goal in place, we recommend adding anchors to the back corners (sandbags or 10-20 pound weights in each corner). The downside to buying this goal is that it is heavier than most goals we have reviewed and takes longer to assemble than most goals. But that's to be expected for a standard-sized goal that will hold up well, right? If you are a serious player and want a full-sized net, you can't go wrong with this choice.

Best mid-range portable soccer goal

If you want a full-sized goal similar to the Bownet design, but don't want to pay the full Bownet price, consider the Quickster. The Quickster is lightweight, easy to assemble, and has a flexible structure that absorbs hard shots on the net. The downside is that the goal needs to be secured with metal stakes. It is also less durable than the Bownet, and I feel like the Bownet will last longer than the Quickster. Keep in mind, however, that the Quickster is about half the price of the Bownet. If you're looking for a portable soccer goal that's great value, the Franklin Blackhawk is worth your attention. It comes in a variety of sizes, from 4 x 3 feet to 12 x 6 feet. Keep in mind that you'll need to drive stakes into the ground to keep this goal secure. This isn't an issue, as the goals are lightweight and easy to assemble.
