Updates from the past few days on NCAA men's players and the Professional Volleyball Federation:
Grand Canyon, the only undefeated team in the country, took first place in the AVCA men's volleyball poll for the first time.
Belmont Abbey holds a one-game lead over Erskine and North Greenville in the Conference Carolinas.
And Atlanta Vibe leads the four-car pack atop the PVF.
Starting with Thursday's games, here are five Division I-II boys games. That includes a battle in Los Angeles where No. 4 UCLA takes on No. 11 USC in his MPSF. University of California, Santa Barbara in the Big West, which fell outside of the top 20, will go to Concordia Irvine in the MPSF.
There are two MIVA games, with No. 14 Lewis facing No. 7 Ohio State and No. 13 Loyola Chicago at home against Purdue Fort Wayne. And in NEC, No. 20 Damen is in Dieuville.
There are two PVF matches. omaha supernova (5-3) in atlanta atmosphere (4-2) and vegas thrills (2-5) in san diego mojo (1-3).
AVCA Top 20, POW: GCU (13-0) moved up one spot with back-to-back home wins over USC and received 13 of 23 first-place votes. This was GCU's first 2nd place, so this is its highest ranking. Long Beach State (13-1) received 10 of his first-place votes but fell to second place. Hawaii, UCLA and UC Irvine keep him at 3-4 and 5th place.

This week's AVCA representative athlete is Cory Grant of Mount Olive. The outside sophomore averaged 4.2 kills per set and hit .565 in two Conference Carolina wins last week, becoming the first MO player to earn this honor since 2017.
