Florida State is at the halfway point of spring training, and the quarterback battle between Oregon State transfer DJ Uiagalelei and sophomore Brock Glenn is still ongoing, with both players vying for the starting spot. The first nine practices were close, but Glenn showed off his athleticism in Tuesday's practice by starting a ton of runs while running a read-option play that led to a touchdown.

Head coach Mike Norvell was modest when asked about the design of the play, but acknowledged Glenn's speed and said he was clocked running more than 20 mph.
“He went over 20 miles per hour on that run. He had speed and athleticism and you could see the strength there,” Norvell said. “It's something we often forget, but as men go through the career process, we see them get stronger, more agile, more confident.” But it's true. , he was flying. ”
Glenn wasn't the only quarterback to shine throughout the spring. Uiagalelei is steadily learning the offense and building chemistry with his team. Florida State will have serious quarterback competition for the first time in his two seasons. Norvell said his knowledge of three different offenses in college will help him learn Florida State's scheme and he's looking forward to watching him progress throughout the spring.
“He has learned three different languages in the last three years,” Nobel said of Uiagalelei. “And maybe just the experience helps the process, but we still do things a certain way, we have certain reads, certain timing, certain offensive elements, and that's what we do. I thought it was going to be really good.”
With four practices left until FSU's annual Garnet and Gold Spring Showcase on April 20, the quarterback competition will undoubtedly continue through the summer heading into fall camp.
