Reading, Pennsylvania (February 29, 2024) – Alvernia Men's Ice Hockey has selected four student-athletes to the 2023-24 All-MAC Men's Ice Hockey Team for their performance during the 2023-24 season.
jackson fellner He was named Rookie of the Year and earned second-team All-MAC honors as a goaltender. Logan Vande Meeracker Earned Second Team All-MAC as a forward. Matthew Davis Earned second team All-MAC honors on defense. Isaac Chapman He capped off Alvernia's All-MAC performance with honorable mention at forward.
jackson fellnerwas named All-Rookie by UCHC, He finished his first year with the Golden Wolves with a net record of 8 wins, 9 losses, and 1 draw. Fellner appeared in eight games and played just over 1,073 minutes. He allowed 48 goals, 20 of which were power play goals, for a goals against average of 2.68. He finished the year with 582 saves and a save percentage of .924. Fellner made a season-high 47 saves against Nazaré on Nov. 18 and has 12 games with 30 or more saves. He finished the year ranking second in the MAC with 582 saves, and his 32.33 saves per game also ranked second in the conference. He was second in the MAC with a .924 save percentage.
Logan Vande MeerackerHe had a career year with the Golden Wolves, where he also earned First Team All-UCHC honors. He finished the season with 14 goals and 19 assists for a team-high 33 points in 27 games. He finished the season with a plus-24 rating. Their 14 goals on the year ranked fourth in the MAC, and they led the conference with 33 points on the year. He tied for first in the league with 19 assists. Vande Meeracker ranked 25th in the nation with a 1.22 points per game and 23rd in the nation with 33 points. Vande Meeracker also scored at least one point in two consecutive games, in games 6 and 7. He also played in eight multi-point games this season. For Vande Meeracker, this is his second All-MAC honor. He also won the second-team award last season.
Matthew Davis He played in 26 of Alvernia's 27 games this season. He finished the year with six goals and 10 assists for 16 points. Davie finished the year with a plus-six rating and scored a hat-trick in Albania's season opener at Rivier. Davis had 36 blocked shots, second at Alvernia and sixth in the MAC. This is Davis' first All-MAC honor.
Isaac Chapman He finished the season with 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points. He played in all 27 games for Alvernia this season and had a plus-21 rating for the season. Chapman's 27 points ranked second on the team and fourth in the MAC, and his 13 goals ranked second on the team and fifth in the conference. This is Chapman's first All-MAC honor.
Stevenson's Liam McCanney was named MAC Offensive Player of the Year, and Stevenson's Ty Auten was named Defensive Player of the Year. Stephenson's Dominic Dawes was named Coach of the Year.
