Former Archbishop Mitty basketball star Drew Gordon died Thursday in a car accident in Portland, Oregon, his agent announced. He told ESPN's Marc Spears.
Gordon, the older brother of Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, was 33 years old.
The San Jose native led Mitty to three West Catholic Athletic League championships and was named the Mercury News Player of the Year in 2007.
He graduated as a McDonald's All-American in 2008.
Gordon played at UCLA and New Mexico before beginning his professional basketball career.
He went undrafted by the NBA in 2012.
Other than a nine-game stint with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014-15 season, Gordon has spent his entire career playing in Europe and the G League.

“The team is heartbroken by the passing of Drew Gordon. Drew was far too young to leave this earth, but his legacy will live on forever through his three beautiful children and loved ones,” the Denver Nuggets posted on their X/Twitter account Thursday night.
“Our thoughts are with Aaron and the Gordon family during this extremely difficult time.”
In 2022, Gordon was playing in the Ukrainian Basketball Super League when Russian forces invaded Ukraine.
After the break-in, he posted on X/Twitter, “Hey everyone, how are you all?!!! My family and I are home safe!! Thank you for all the encouragement and concern! I hope Ukraine is ok. It was fun playing there and I hope things calm down.”
Gordon is survived by his wife, Angela, and three children.
