The Florida State coaching staff is always looking to add talent, whether through high school recruiting, the transfer portal, junior college or walk-ons. The Seminoles have shown they will do whatever it takes to get back to the top of college football.
Mike Norvell also worked to keep more FSU blood around the team, both on the field and on the coaching staff.

Last week, the Seminoles acquired a special pledge in more ways than one with the announcement that 2024 athlete Jeremiah Johnson will follow in his brother's footsteps and wear the garnet and gold. Johnson is the younger brother of Jermaine Johnson, a former Florida State star and current standout defensive end for the New York Jets.
Although Johnson spent just one year in Tallahassee in 2021, he played a pivotal role in coach Mike Norvell's rebuild at Florida State. He was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and finished with 70 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovered, two pass deflections, and a defensive touchdown.
The Jets were impressed enough to ultimately select Johnson with the 26th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He will be playing in the Pro Bowl for the first time with the team. Meanwhile, Johnson continued to compete at Florida State the past two years, and in 2023 Moore dedicated an All-American brick outside his center field honoring Johnson.
The younger Johnson has remained local in recent years, adapting to North Florida Christian, Robert F. Munroe Day School and Gadsden County High School. He played linebacker and running back at the prep level, recording 145 tackles, seven sacks, and three forced fumbles as a junior.
Johnson has been training with former Florida State running back Carlos Williams since the end of his senior season. He plans to officially participate this summer. There are many other Seminole legends on the list, including Marvin Jones Jr., Aaron Hester, Lamont Green Jr., Peter Warwick Jr., Jaden Floyd and Ben Ostaszewski.
