CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (now CVILLE) – The Saber.com reports that former FSU guard Jalen Worley has committed to the Cavaliers from the Seminoles for the 2024-25 basketball season. The following is a report by Chris Wright of the Sabres, who also serves as WINA's men's basketball his Cavaliers countdown his analyst.
“Wally entered the transfer portal on April 19th and visited Virginia later this week. After completing his visit on Friday, an announcement followed. UVA has recruited Wally and offered him as a high school recruit in 2020. This would be another example of the Hoos' first recruit returning to the program as a transfer, with recent examples being Braxton Key and Sam Hauser. will hope to follow a similar path towards an NBA opportunity in his final year of eligibility.
As a high school freshman in 2020, Wally earned a four-star rating from 247Sports and was ranked No. 34 nationally in his class. 247 lists him as the No. 3 combo guard in those rankings. He had offers from FSU and Virginia, as well as Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Marquette and Creighton.
With the Seminoles, Worley played in 96 games and started 58. That includes 32 games (all but one) as a regular starter this season. In his career, he averaged 6.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 turnovers. He shot 42.2% overall, 29.4% from 3-point range and 69.9% from the free throw line. These percentages break down to 4.3 2-point attempts, 0.7 3-point attempts, and 2.4 free throw attempts per game. ”
