Lenoir Rhyne men's basketball head coach Everic Sullivanannounced that he will step down as men's basketball head coach effective March 31, 2024.
“My family and I are grateful to have been a part of the Hickory community for the past eight years,” he said. Everic Sullivan. “I would like to thank all the players, assistants, and support staff who have been an integral part of my journey. I am especially grateful for the support of our amazing men's basketball alumni. Lenoir-Rhyne University is a great institution and a very inspiring one. I am honored to be able to contribute to the development of young people on and off the court. ”
Sullivan spent eight seasons at the helm of LR as the men's basketball head coach.he recently scored 100 pointsth He won as head coach of the Bears, finishing his tenure at LR with a 101-112 overall record and 73-87 in the South Atlantic Conference. His team finished the 2023-24 season with an overall record of 15-14 in conference play and 10-10. The team won the last four of their five conference games and finished tied for seventh place with a come-from-behind victory over Wingate on Senior Day.th in conference standings.
Sullivan's best season during his tenure was in 2018-19, when he posted a 21-11 record, finished as runner-up in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament and made it to the NCAA Tournament. Sullivan's biggest upset win during his time at LR came against his alma mater Louisville on October 30, 2022 at the Yum Center. During his tenure, he coached 10 All-Conference players, two All-Region selections and one SAC defensive player. Two players were selected to the All-Freshman team in 2019-20. During his time, eight players went on to play professionally after playing in LR. Six of these eight players were members of the 2018-19 team.

Riley McGillanHe has served as an assistant basketball coach for the past three seasons and will lead the recruiting and day-to-day operations of the men's basketball program until a new head coach is named.
A national search to replace Sullivan will begin, led by research firm consultant Kurt Pattberg of Mammoth Sports Consulting.
