England take on Brazil at Wembley tonight as Gareth Southgate's side continue their preparations for Euro 2024 with a key friendly. The Three Lions have been hit by an injury crisis in the penultimate game before Southgate named his training squad for this summer's European Championship, including captain Harry Kane and Winger Bukayo Saka will not play in tonight's game against Brazil.
That could open up the opportunity for German legal action against several people involved in Mr Southgate's scheme. Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins was selected in Kane's absence, while Newcastle's Anthony Gordon was given his full international debut. Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Manchester United's 18-year-old midfielder Koby Mainu could get a chance to make their first England appearances off the bench.
Brazil have also been hit by injuries ahead of the March international break, so they may be left with an inexperienced squad at Wembley, but Dorival has called up players such as Vinicius Junior and 17-year-old star Endrick. It's planned. England are playing their first game of the year and are scheduled to return to action when they host Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday night.
