Cameron Boozer, ranked No. 2 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite and the son of 2001 Duke University basketball national champion and two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, recently announced that a UNC basketball recruiter had approached him. He said he is pushing for a visit to Chapel Hill. But the 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward isn't the only five-star Boozer Twin out of Columbus High School (Fla.) on the Tar Heels' 2025 offer sheet.
On that note, Cameron and Kayden Boozer, a crafty 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard who ranks No. 17 overall, have reiterated over and over again that it's not necessarily a one-stop deal.
Specifically regarding the latest updates on the Caden Boozer sweepstakes, he told League Ready last weekend that UNC's basketball staff has considered Duke, several top candidates from home state, and Arkansas as potential suitors that he's been hearing about on a regular basis lately. He said he was lining up the .
“The schools that contacted me the most throughout the recruiting process are now Duke, Miami, Florida, UNC and Arkansas. [John Calipari left Kentucky]“These are primarily the schools that have been talking to me lately,” Boozer explained.
The 16-year-old backcourt phenom then reaffirmed that his Blue Devil genes (both parents graduated from Duke University) don't guarantee he'll end up in Durham.
“Obviously, we have a tie with Duke,” he told League Ready. “But I mean, my decision is my decision. It's not my dad's decision, it's not anybody's decision. It's my decision. It's something I have to do for myself and my future… being a point guard. I need a coach.'' I have a good relationship with him and I can trust him to make decisions on the field…
“I want to live in a culture where we can win.”
Kayden Boozer added that he doesn't have a timeline in mind.
