But one of the most underrated perks of this role is the amount of gear Blue Devil players receive.
From shirts to exclusive Brotherhood merchandise to exclusive Duke PE shoes that pro players like LeBron James and Kyrie Irving send to the Blue Devils, the long list of items is sure to fill players' closets every season.
After two seasons as a star for Duke University basketball, Kyle Filipovski has racked up some decent gear. And now, it looks like he's trying to get some things sorted out before aiming to be a first-round pick in this year's NBA Draft.
Last week, Filipovski announced that he would be selling more than 150 different player-only Duke items through The Players Trunk, a website dedicated to helping former players-only gear drop off to fans across the country. Decided.
The 20-year-old sold a collection of different items, including practice jerseys, hoodies, training shorts and even K Academy threads.
Other Blue Devils have done similar things in the past, with former teammate Ryan Young selling some of his Duke and Northwestern gear earlier this offseason. But as The Players Trunk pointed out, Filipowski's bundle is the biggest drop in history.
Filipovski had a successful two-year career in Durham, where he was named an All-American, First Team All-ACC and ACC Rookie of the Year, and will become another NBA Blue Devil.
He is one of two Blue Devils projected to be a first-round pick this summer, along with teammate Jared McCain, who are potential lottery picks. In CBS Sports' latest mock draft, the two players land on opposite ends of the lottery, with Filipovskis being taken 14th by the Portland Trail Blazers and McCain subsequently named to Miami with the 15th pick. I decided to listen to it. heat.
