Despite playing four seasons as a basketball guard at Duke University, winning a national title in 2015, and scoring nearly 2,000 points in college, many people doubt Grayson Allen's ability to make it in the NBA. I was watching.

Nearly six years after being selected 21st overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, Allen has established himself as a key player on the NBA roster. And in doing so, he earned a large salary.
Early Monday morning, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that Allen has signed a four-year contract extension with the Phoenix Suns worth about $70 million, keeping him with the team from 2027 to 2028.
The 28-year-old, who was traded to Phoenix this summer after spending the past two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, put together the best season of his career. He appeared in 75 games, averaging 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 33.5 minutes, setting career highs in all categories.
Allen was also incredibly efficient shooting from the field, shooting nearly 50 percent from the field and a league-leading 46.1 percent from behind. He was coming off a much-needed 50/40/90 season, shooting 49.9 percent from the field, 46.1 percent from deep and 87.8 percent from the charity stripe.
His strong play during the season propelled the Suns to the sixth seed in the Western Conference, earning them a direct playoff berth and a matchup with the third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.
Regardless of how this season ends for the Suns, Grayson Allen will likely be part of the core going forward alongside Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.
