The Anaheim Ducks, in collaboration with the Fullerton School District, have announced the launch of a new summer hockey program, the Encore Learn to Play program, free of charge to local third through sixth graders who are enrolled in the Encore extended learning program.
Supported by the Anaheim Ducks Foundation and the Ducks SCORE program, the Encore Learn to Play program will host more than 40 students with the opportunity to experience ice hockey for the first time. The co-ed program will hold five on-ice sessions at The Rinks – Anaheim ICE throughout the month of July.
The Anaheim Ducks and the Anaheim Ducks Foundation are committed to supporting educational and athletic opportunities for area children. This collaboration with the Fullerton School District is a testament to the Ducks' commitment to positively impacting the lives of students in their community. Founded in 2005, the Anaheim Ducks' SCORE (Academic Curriculum for Recreation and Education) program is dedicated to positively impacting the youth of local schools and the hockey community throughout Southern California. The SCORE program utilizes the sport of hockey to teach educational themes, encourage healthy and active living, emphasize the importance of positive character development, and reward young people's dedication to the pursuit of academic excellence. Through its efforts, SCORE impacts more than 65,000 students annually and provides educators with a viable alternative to costly programs.
