The district is strongly Republican, with 39% of registered voters identifying as Republicans and 27% as Democrats.
Savage did not respond to requests to participate in this article.
The winner will face Republican incumbent Rich DeLong, who was first elected in 2022 to take over Lisa Krasner's 26th District seat when she moved to the state Senate.

What is correct about Nevada election law and what would you like to see changed?
•Diane Sullivan: We haven't heard of the kind of voter suppression that goes on here in some states. Please keep an eye on the situation as it changes. We must be ready to actively participate on behalf of voters and ensure that the right to vote is not suppressed or denied.
To ensure elections are fair and just, we need to address voting by mail. I would urge them to make sure it is the voice of the voters and not fraud.
How do you hold schools and districts accountable for improving student outcomes?
• Sullivan: Our children are very smart and should not be inferior in anything. In other words, even though we are investing so much money, we are not getting any results.
At this level of funding, we need to get to the bottom of it. We need to look at where our money is being spent.
We need to dig deep into our education system. Maybe we need to have an education task force that just looks at where the money goes and makes sure it's not wasted. We always have work to do.
If you could approve one thing to make housing more affordable in Nevada, what would it be?
• Sullivan: We need to understand why housing costs are rising so high and figure out how to lower them.
There is no solution unless you understand why you continue down this path.
We really need people who can fight and work across the aisle. Look at the past few years. You have seen such strife and division. How is it helping us? it's not.
Perhaps tax breaks should be given to landlords as an incentive to lower housing costs. We need to find a solution now. We can't wait any longer.
