DENVER (KDVR) โ Summer is just a little over a week away and warm-weather activities are on the way, with farmers markets, campgrounds and even public pools set to open.
If you're thinking about starting swim season in Denver, here's what you need to know.
Denver Public Pool Schedules
In Denver, the following pools are scheduled to open for the summer season on June 14th:
- Aztlan Recreation Center
- Burnham Recreation Centre
- Berkeley Park
- Congress Park
- Cook Park Recreation Centre
- Eisenhower Recreation Center
- Garfield Park
- Globeville Argo Park
- Green Valley Ranch
- Harvard Gulch Recreation Center
- Harvey Park Recreation Centre

Due to construction and maintenance needs, Swansea Pool and Mestizo Curtis Pool will not open for the 2024 season and Ruby Hill Park will close permanently.
Open swimming is subject to availability. Pool is available on a first come first served basis.
Pool opening hours vary by pool due to swim lessons, safety breaks and other water-related activities. 2024 schedules for each pool can be found on the City's website.
Pool Closure Date
Denver's outdoor pools are scheduled to close on Aug. 11, with some pools closing for the summer.
Please note that the pool will be closed on June 19th and July 4th due to the holidays.
The pool will close under certain circumstances, such as if the air temperature is below 64 degrees, if the water temperature is below 78 degrees, or if high winds reduce visibility to the bottom of the pool. Other events, such as thunder and lightning, mechanical issues, and sanitary reasons, will also cause the pool to close for short periods of time.
Swimming Rules
Below are some of the rules for all of Denver's public pools, as listed on the city's website.
- Children 5 years and under must be directly supervised within arms reach in the pool by a responsible parent or guardian.
- Children 6 and 7 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 12 or older at all times in the pool area.
- Children aged 8 and over may swim unsupervised.
- You must shower before entering the pool
- Proper swimwear is required – no jeans, cutoffs, everyday clothing or underwear.
- There should be no running, pushing, wrestling or rough play in locker rooms, showers or pool areas.
- A swimming ability test may be required before entering deep water
- Participants who require diapers must wear swim diapers or plastic pants.
