PITMAN, N.J. — New Jersey City University fifth-year player Brandon DaSilva (Kearney, N.J./Kearney) has been named the 2024 NJAC Men's Volleyball Player of the Year, headlining all-conference selection. Kean University freshman Tyler Quinn (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) earned Defensive Player of the Year honors and NJCU freshman Marcus Pardacy (Paramus, N.J./Cresskill) earned Rookie of the Year honors. obtained.
Their honor highlights the 11-member NJAC Men's Volleyball All-Conference Team. The selection was based on season-long statistics as voted on by the league's four head coaches.
A five-time NJAC All-Conference honoree and two-time Defensive Player of the Year, DaSilva had a dominant season leading NJCU to a 22-11 record and earned Player of the Year honors for the first time. Ta. Previously, Da Silva was named an AVCA All-American and an All-Region 2 selection, and was one of the leaders in multiple categories in the conference and NCAA. He led the NJAC in blocks (1.13/set) and batting average (.400), ranking seventh and 16th in the nation, respectively. He also ranked second in the NJAC in points (3.82/set), sixth in kills (2.80/set) and seventh in aces (0.34/set). At the NJAC tournament, he batted .733 with 11 blocks and 11 kills in a win over defending champion Rutgers-Newark.
Quinn earned league-best defensive honors in his first collegiate season at Kean University. The rookie libero led all NJAC players in digs, scoring 3.14 points per set. He also ranks 14th in Division III in digs per set. He had 12 double-digit scores, including a season-high 19 scoops against Drew. In NJAC play, he scored 14 points in a win over NJCU, 10 points in a win against Ramapo, and nine points in a loss against Rutgers-Newark. Quinn was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season and won Rookie of the Week once.
Pardasie helped the Gothic Knights win 22 games and brought a lot of attention to the NJCU scene. He has won the NJAC Newcomer of the Week award nine times and the Player of the Week award once. He has accomplished all of this as he ranks in his NJAC top 10 in five different categories. Ta. He ranks second in aces (0.50/set), third in batting average (.280), fifth in kills (2.80/set), seventh in points (3.43/set), and eighth in digs (1.77/set). is ranked. He had 12 double-digit kills and four double-digit dig performances while batting over .500 in 10 games.
NJCU's staff, including Carlo Edra and Michal Kuza, Patrick John Padilla, Thomas Burrell and Joe Norman, led the team to a 22-11 record and was named NJAC Coaching Staff of the Year . Under their leadership, the Gothic Knights recorded his ninth 20-win season in program history, and the program boasted its first-ever AVCA All-American in Da Silva. Their team also earned the top overall seed in his ECAC Tournament, and the Knights rank him third among NCAA Division III teams in opponent batting average (.132).
