Hammond, Louisiana – Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team Andrea da Silva He was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team following an announcement by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Da Silva, a native of Andorra la Vella, Andorra, earned the honor in her first season with the Lady Lions. The junior transfer added the accomplishment to the collection of awards she has earned this season, including All-Conference Second Team and Player of the Week honors.
Southeastern finished the 2024 season with its best record in program history, finishing 13-19 overall and 4-4 in conference play. Da Silva was part of SLU's top pairing, partnering Rachel Hartmanled the team in wins this season with a 23-9 record, the most in program history, and the pair also held a 71.9% win percentage by the end of the year.
To be selected as an All-Academic Honor Athlete, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 through the semester prior to their sport's championship, have completed at least one year of academics at their nominating school prior to the current season, and have participated in at least 50% of their team's competitions during the most recent season. Candidates for Student-Athlete of the Year must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 and have completed at least two years of competition at their nominating school, including the current season.
